The Painted Bear: An Interview with Footballer Omar Marmoush

Der gemalte Bär: Ein Interview mit dem Fußballer Omar Marmoush

When it comes to footballers, few are as down-to-earth as Omar Marmoush. The 24-year-old from VFL Wolfsburg is not only a gifted footballer, but also a big fan of art. We sat down with Omar to talk about his love of beautiful football and how he uses his platform to promote the work of young artists.

Omar, thank you for taking the time to speak to us. Can you tell us a little bit about your love for art?

"Of course! I've always loved art, ever since I was a kid. I loved going to museums with my parents and looking at all the paintings and sculptures. There's something about art that appeals to me. It's like another language."

That is interesting. What do you mean by "another language"?

"Well, I see art as a way of conveying feelings and ideas that cannot necessarily be expressed in words. That's why I love it so much. It's a way of expressing myself that goes beyond football."

You obviously have a great passion for art. What made you decide to support the work of young artists?

"I just wanted to create a platform for talented artists to be seen and recognized. There are so many incredible artists out there that don't necessarily have the visibility or platform they deserve. I just wanted to have my own platform to change that

That is really admirable. What have you enjoyed most about this process so far?

"Honestly, to see the joy that my painted bear has brought to people. I got it as a gift from XO Art and it's just great to see how much people like it. It makes me really happy to know that I make other people happy

It's clear that Omar Marmoush is not only a talented footballer but also a really good person. His love of art shows in everything he does and he uses his platform to promote the work of emerging artists. We're excited to see what he does next!
