A non-fungible token (NFT) is a non-fungible digitally protected object. It is based on blocks of information that are lined up like links in a chain (blockchain). Each of these blocks contains certain data about the object as well as its hash value and that of the previous block. A hash value can be compared to a fingerprint in digital form, it is always unique and is therefore used to identify a particular block. In contrast to a fungible token, this means that it cannot be exchanged or copied.
